Beer appears to be less fattening than wine, according to the British Beer and Pub Association. A glass of beer with a typical 4.6% alcoholic volume has fewer calories not only than a similar measure of wine, but also milk or fruit juice, it says. Spirits, meanwhile, contain more than six times the calories of beer and when mixed with a soft drink, the calorie-count soars even higher. (Source: BBC)
And so it looks like my beer habit
not only makes me smart, but it's a hell of a lot better for me than the drink of choice through most of last year, Jim and Coke poured Little Tom style (3x35ml shots and a splash of our second favourite caffeinated liquid). Maybe that's why the School of Computing is celebrating it's
Jubilee by selling off bottles of beer that's been hiding in the department for decades and shiny pint glasses to match. Maybe it's why CAMRA is popular here, and maybe, just maybe beer is better for maintining the
Ballmer Peak. The question is whether I can pass off my consumption of
Sheep and IPA as a study aid.
